Terms and conditions of use
This document is drafted in French, which is the only authoritative language. Its English, Spanish, Italian and German versions are courtesy translations: in the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Purpose
These terms set out the rules for using the Swan service, an SEO migration support tool published by 410-GONE.FR (see the legal notice). They apply to any person who creates an account or uses the service. The terms for purchasing credits are set out in the general terms and conditions of sale.
2. What the service does
Swan browses (“crawls”) the websites you designate, the old website and its new version, extracts their addresses and text content, and calculates the semantic similarity between pages. For each old URL, it suggests destination URLs, which you validate or correct. It then checks the redirects on the staging environment and then in production, and exports the redirect plan.
The similarity calculation is performed on the publisher’s servers: the content of your pages is not sent to any third-party artificial intelligence service.
3. Access and account
Access to the service goes through the 410-GONE.FR identity directory, which verifies your email address and password. Your credentials are personal: you are responsible for keeping them confidential and for all actions carried out from your account. Notify us without delay, at contact@410-gone.fr, of any use you have not authorised.
4. The websites you have crawled
You submit to the service only websites of which you are the publisher, or for which you have received a mandate from the publisher. A crawl sends a large number of requests to the target website: you inform its hosting provider where necessary.
The access credentials for a protected staging environment that you provide (HTTP authentication, cookie) are used solely to crawl that staging environment. Use dedicated credentials that you can revoke at the end of the project.
5. Connection to Google Search Console
On your own initiative, you may authorise Swan to read the data of your Google Search Console properties, in order to import your website’s pages and their search statistics. The access requested from Google is read-only; it is kept for the duration of your session and used only for the import you launch. You may revoke it at any time from your Google account settings.
6. Your data
The data in your projects remain yours. You may export your redirect plan at any time. Deleting a project erases the addresses, content and URL matches it contains. Details of the processing operations and their duration are set out in the data use policy.
7. What the service guarantees, and what it does not
The suggested URL matches are calculated: they are a decision-making aid, to be checked before going live. The service guarantees no SEO results and never itself acts on your servers: it is you who deploy the redirects. The publisher’s liability is governed by article 9 of the general terms of sale.
8. Prohibited uses
It is prohibited to use the service to crawl a website without authorisation, to circumvent its limits or access controls, to extract its data by automated means outside the exports provided, to resell access to a third party, or to impair its operation.
9. Availability and suspension
The publisher uses reasonable means to ensure the availability of the service, without any service level commitment. Scheduled interruptions are announced. In the event of a serious breach of these terms, the publisher may suspend access to the account after informing the user, except in an emergency.
10. Changes to the terms
These terms may change as the service evolves. The applicable version is the one published on this page on the date the service is used.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, any dispute falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lyon having jurisdiction in commercial matters (juridictions de Lyon compétentes en matière commerciale).
